St Paul's Community College

Building on St. Paul's High School's tradition of excellence in education for the last 150 years, and in response to the changing needs of our times, the school management extends its expertise to open the St. Paul's Community College.

What is a Community College?
The Community College is an alternative system of education, which is aimed at the empowerment of the disadvantaged and the underprivileged through appropriate skills development leading to gainful employment. This is done in collaboration with the local industry and the community.

Through the Community College, the underprivileged and those that do not fit into the regular system of education are given skills necessary for successful employment or to become self-employable.

Today there are over 153 community colleges in over 17 States providing the underprivileged access to quality education and assuring 75 percent job placements.

Why St. Paul’s Community College?
Even though Belgaum is an educational hub, there exists a large amount of unemployment. Many people after finishing their regular college education are unfit to be employed. There also exist a large number of dropouts from schools and colleges here in Belgaum.

For every 100 students joining school, only 40% manage to pass the SSLC examination. The need of an alternative system of education is an urgent need of Belgaum. And hence the idea of St. Paul’s Community College (SPCC) was born.
